Last month’s pink-themed Heat focused on Breast Cancer Awareness. We received many calls of thanks for bringing the spotlight on this dreadful disease. The American Cancer Society does a lot of significant research on combating the many forms of cancer that affect many of our loved ones.
This is the month to be thankful, and no matter what trials and tribulations you may have, you can find something or someone to be thankful for. With that said, reach out to your loved ones and friends and tell them how thankful you are to have them in your life.
November is here! I hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving. When this new administration took over we had 5,400 members. Now, ten months later, we have over 6,300 members. More people than ever are just showing up wanting to join. Just the other day we had 10 officers show up from an agency who we don’t even represent as their bargaining agent.
The General Election will take place on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, and all voting Floridians will have the opportunity to decide if Miami-Dade County shall have an elected Sheriff.
In Florida, a constitutional amendment requires a 60% supermajority vote at the ballot for approval.
