Our long-standing fight against Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez was a long fought, bittersweet victory. No Mayor within the State of Florida can ever act the way Gimenez did when he lost the vote for the health insurance increase.
August is here and as I said last month the mercury is rising and it's "Hot Hot Hot"! I hope everyone is ready for the start of the new school year, I know we are here.
Last month, I attended a charity soccer tournament held at FIU between the Miami-Dade Police Department and the Miami-Dade Firefighters.
As the new school year begins, please ensure that you leave earlier and pack your patience with you for the drive! Let’s be observant of the school zones and remember it’s not the kids’ fault for having parents who think the laws don’t apply to them.
Having said that, I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July celebration.
The month of August is here and this year is flying by. It's a busy month as usual with all the retirees leaving. It seems I may not able to make it to all of the parties, but let me tell you, that’s a good problem to have. My congratulations to all the retirees. May you live long and in good health.
Now back to the people that still have to work.
